Shenzhen’s Top Ten Peaks: Da Nan Mountain Guide

大南山

Time: June 5, 2021

Location: Shenzhen

Weather: Cloudy turning to partly cloudy

Starting Point: Nanshan Park Villa Climbing Entrance

Attire: Short-sleeved shirt + long pants + sports shoes

Other: 2 bottles of water + biscuits + power bank

Today’s destination is Da Nan Mountain, with an altitude of 336 meters. Although it’s not very far away, it’s my first time coming here. Before leaving, I searched online and found that there are 3 commonly used climbing entrances. I chose the villa area climbing entrance because it’s close to Sea World.

大南山

Navigate from Fuyong Subway Station, take the subway to Sea World Station, exit at D, and then use Gaode Map to navigate to Nanshan Park, choosing the walking route.

Follow the navigation and turn right, walk to a traffic light intersection, cross the road, continue forward, and you’ll reach the next intersection which is a fork in the road, see the picture below.

大南山

There is a sign on the road, a sign to the left that says: Nanshan Climbing Entrance, just follow the sign and go into the fork on the left.

大南山

There is another sign at this left intersection: check it, it says: Shou Culture Square, that’s right, continue along the road.

大南山

After walking for about 5 minutes, you will see the stone tablet of Nanshan Park marked by the road sign, which is the main entrance. Enter the main entrance and walk about 300 meters to the parking lot.

大南山

There is an entrance on this side of the parking lot: Entrance 1

大南山

There is a road sign indicating that Entrance 1 is Shou Culture Square

Continue forward and choose the villa climbing entrance to go up the mountain.

大南山

It’s very close, when you see a restroom and a small shop, you’ve arrived.

大南山

The climbing entrance is inscribed with: “May you live as long as the southern mountain,” and the climb begins from the stone steps on the right.

大南山

After climbing two sections of steps, the first thing you see is the Qishou Pavilion.

大南山

After passing, continue along the stone path.

大南山

Arriving at a small viewing platform, take some photos, have a drink.

大南山

Going up further, you’ll reach another pavilion.

大南山

It also has the character for longevity, called: Yanshou Pavilion.

大南山

Going down, you’ll come to a fork, follow the stone path to the right.

大南山

Walk more than 200 meters to the right, and you’ll reach the first peak: Qitian Pavilion.

大南山

Qitian Pavilion is a two-story viewing pavilion.

大南山

This is also the meeting point for those who came up from Entrance 1.

大南山

It’s quite nice to go up and enjoy the breeze.

Of course, this is just the first stage, the real goal is still ahead.

大南山

There is a small path leading down from Qitian Pavilion that leads to the Nanshan Viewing Platform.

大南山

Start from here again, first go downhill, then uphill.

大南山

Turn left after going uphill, and there’s another pavilion.

大南山

Forgot the name of this pavilion, awkward.

大南山

After the pavilion, there is still a section of the road.

大南山

The road surface is relatively flat, and it’s easy to walk.

大南山

When you see this building, you’ve reached the top. There is an aviation building on top, similar to a helipad.

大南山

At the top, there will be a QR code for the Shenzhen Top Ten Peaks, which you can scan and check in.

This is the one I scanned.

大南山

This is the top of the mountain, take a rest, and then go down the mountain.

Nanshan gives me the feeling that it is very suitable for daily exercise, climbing the mountain after dinner, the mountain is not high, the difficulty is relatively simple, especially suitable for daily exercise.
