Time: May 11, 2021
Location: Shenzhen
Weather: Sunny, temperature 29 degrees
Duration: 1 day
Transportation: Subway + Bus
Drinking Water: 2 bottles of mineral water
Attire: Sun hat + sports shoes with soft soles + quick-dry shirt + windproof pants
Time to climb up: About 1 hour and 20 minutes (friends who exercise less may take about 2-3 hours)
To go to Qi Niang Mountain, people usually navigate to the National Geological Park Museum with map software, as the entrance to Qi Niang Mountain is right in front of the museum.
I set off at around 7:30 in the morning, taking the subway Line 11 from Fuyong Station to Futian Station, then transferring to Line 2 at Futian Station to Liantang Port Station.
(Figure: Subway Line 8)
Exit from Exit D of Liantang Port, walk to the Luohu Sports Stadium 2 bus station, take the E11 bus, scan the code to pay, the cost is about 10 yuan.
(Figure: Luohu Sports Stadium 2 bus platform)
Take the E11 bus and get off directly at the Xinda Community Stop, the bus ride takes about more than an hour.
(Figure: Xinda Community Stop)
After getting off the bus, it is actually only 2 kilometers away from Qi Niang Mountain. I usually walk there, which takes about 20 minutes. There is also a local bus M423 available, the choice is yours.
After getting off the bus, I walk back from the bus stop for dozens of meters, where there is a T-junction. Turning left, I will see a sign pointing to Qi Niang Mountain, and the mountain behind the sign is actually Qi Niang Mountain.

When I arrive at the intersection, I turn right and keep going until I get there. The picture is of Qi Niang Mountain. At this time, the sun is scorching, and the time is around 10:45.
(Figure: Walking to the entrance of Qi Niang Mountain from Xinda Community Stop)
At about 11:07, I arrive at the entrance. After walking to the last bus stop in front of the Geological Museum, I will see a small park-like open space on the right side of the road (as shown in the picture), then there is a small path. Entering the path leads to the entrance of Qi Niang Mountain, just go ahead boldly.
(Figure: The path on the right is the entrance)
Seeing this small bridge, entering it is the entrance for climbing Qi Niang Mountain.

There is a check at the entrance of the mountain, and you need to register. Then, the toilet is on the left side. It is recommended that everyone goes to the toilet first, because there will be no more above. Then, there is a vending machine in the hall of the toilet. A strong reminder: friends who have not brought water must buy 2 bottles of water here. Today, I met some friends who were climbing the mountain, and I poured half of my own water to them. At least 2 bottles of water per person are needed, because there is no water for sale on the mountain, and the consumption of climbing Qi Niang Mountain is very large, so it is necessary to keep replenishing water, remember.

Start climbing the mountain! The beginning is a relatively flat stone slab road, which is easy to walk on, but it is necessary to do a good job of sun protection for the first half of the road, because there are very few shelters. It is recommended to use an umbrella or wear a sun hat.
(Figure: Stone slab road at the entrance)
Then start the stone step road. The stone step road of Qi Niang Mountain is wide and high, so it consumes more physical strength than the conventional stone step road. If you are tired, it is recommended to rest for a while, especially when the weather is hot, rest more and drink water.
(Picture: Stone step road, the first pavilion)
The picture is of the first pavilion, and then going up will lead to the second pavilion, as shown in the picture below. At this time, physical consumption has been very large, so it is recommended to rest here. This place is almost half of the entire journey. I always rest here every time, because the road behind is completely different. The stone steps are similar to the conventional mountain climbing road, but compared with the first half of the road, the road behind starts to become steep, pay attention to safety.
(Figure: Pavilion 2)
Because the first half of the road consumes more physical strength, the second half of the road is basically built with two roads, there are forked roads, one is a shortcut, which is relatively steep, and the other is a long road, which is more flat. You can choose according to your own physical strength.
(Figure: One steep road, one flat road)
Going up, you will see a viewing platform, which is not described here, and then it’s the third pavilion. At this time, you have probably walked about 3/4 of the road, come on!
(Figure: Pavilion 3)
Continuing to go up, you will see another viewing platform, which is newly built this year. It’s great to go up and enjoy the breeze to recover some physical strength. Although the weather is hot today, there is a large cloud on the mountain top covering here, so there is no sun exposure.
(Figure: Viewing platform)
Climbing to the viewing platform, the clouds and mist are lingering, it’s very fairy-like.
(Figure: Viewing platform)
Going down from the viewing platform and continuing to move forward, you will return to the flat stone step road you first encountered when climbing the mountain. This is because you are about to reach the summit. Keep going for a few more minutes.
(Figure: About to reach the summit)
There will be many scientific research line signs on the road, with elevation heights. Qi Niang Mountain is more than 800 meters above sea level, and you can also judge the distance from the summit based on the elevation height of the signs. The following picture shows an elevation of 797 meters, almost at the top.
(Figure: Elevation scientific research line sign)
Because there are always clouds on the mountain today, the summit and the foot of the mountain are two different worlds. The top of the mountain is shrouded in fog, and the wind is strong. Since the pictures are not aesthetically pleasing, I won’t send more. I have reached the summit, congratulations to everyone!

Here are a few more pictures from my last climb of Qi Niang Mountain, it’s still very much worth a visit!
It took about an hour to go down the mountain, and then, like when I came, I walked to Xinda Community Stop to take the E11 back to the city. I usually get off at the bus stop: Liuyibu 2 Station, and after getting off, I can go straight to the subway station and take the subway back.
This guide may not have detailed records of some places, and comments are welcome to point out, to provide better guidance for friends who are preparing to go to Qi Niang Mountain.
